Again in 2007! Each
year some 20 schools worldwide receive the American Sailing Association's
honor: "Outstanding
Sailing School."
The schools honored in this way represent about 5% of all eligible
schools. Nelson
Sailing Center
has been among the winners for four years straight. By winning again
for 2007, NSC establishes itself as the premier school in the entire
region, if not the entire country. The distinction is all the more
underscored by the fact that three of the Nelson instructors were named
"Outstanding Instructor" for 2007. Captain Pete Must, Captain
Bill Sigmund, and Captain Tony Coia are all repeat winners. Must has
been honored four times in a row. What does this all mean? Our
customers are very, very satisfied. "Come to the best and learn
from the best!"

Boat News:
Fleet Improves and Grows : The
news for '08 is major upgrades of some of our most popular boats. The Bristol
29.9 has a new, very powerful engine and new sails, plus a fresh look. Major Refit on Sabre 28: sails great and now looks great. The Morgan 22 added recently to our fleet
is being fully restored. It features exceptional stability for a
small boat. This one is the proverbial "Brick Outhouse" --
try it, and see if a heavy pocket cruiser is your cup of tea! New Boats: An Oday 26 will be ready
for '08. This is our largest O'day yet (excepting the 34 available for
charters), and will please our large contingent of O'day fans. Two additional immaculate Ensigns! Also Coming: a Seaward 25: to
fill the growing requests for "larger small boats" with outboard
power.

Testimonials I:
We would just like to
thank you for such a wonderful weekend sailing with your school and with our
instructor Peter Koch. Aside from the weather being great, everything
else fell into place and was just perfect! Mike and I felt that we
gained all we could from it and I know I have walked away with greater
confidence and enjoyment in the art of sailing. Peter made us feel
comfortable and made sure we were having a great time while challenging our
skills and knowledge. ..... Thanks again. Mahalo and Aloha!

I just want to
say that my brother Noah, my sister Lolly and I had a lot of fun learning how
to sail over the weekend. You run a terrific school and you do it so
professionally. Captain Bill Sigmund was terrific. He is an excellent
instructor and he was so patient with us. Thanks.

Weather was
beautiful and I had a fantastic learning experience at Nelson Sailing
Center yesterday
afternoon. You truly provide the community with a wonderful opportunity to
get on the water and sail. It is one of the best kept secrets of N.J. I would
buy stock in the company, if I could!..... Anyway, the extraordinary skill of
(Peter Must) got me through our safety session …. Thank you for your
encouragement and for having a terrific competent staff.

*The Cal 34 is in action. This is a boat like you will not
find in "regular" rental fleets. It is equipped with a brand new
diesel and the entire vessel has been fully refurbished to like-new
condition. It is maybe "better than new", since the vintage
Cals were built to a standard that is hard to match today. This boat is
fast, beautiful, and roomy. Check it out and reserve early.
|
|
*Other newer boats to our fleet include the beautifully
redone Sabre 28 - "Viking", and a sweet Cape Dory
25. Both are great looking and great sailing boats.
|
|
*An exciting new trimaran is going to be joining the
fleet for lessons and rentals.
|
|
*The refurbished Pearson Ensign fleet is available for
lessons, rentals, and group activities. We will have 7 top condition
Ensigns. If you have never sailed an Ensign, you must give it a try!

|
*Atlantic City trips aboard the huge Impulse catamaran. Here's a quick
look at it: leave Nelson's on Fri late afternoon and sail to Barnegat
Light. Anchor out in the beautiful harbor at BL. Leave next
morning and be in AC by early afternoon. Stay onboard at the lavish
Trump Marina
with dockside bar, pool, etc. "Have the run of the place",
with access to health club etc. Return on Sunday. See sailboat
rides/charters on main menu.

*Ask about t-shirts, gear bags, bay guides, hat
keepers. We now have an assortment of vending machine items.
