Kids Can Sail I (Ages 8 -16)
The water is our classroom! Join us on a five-day adventure that teaches students the “FUN”damentals of sailing. Kids will be in a boat learning how to sail on their first day! A certified sailing instructor will give lessons on the basics of sailing in the safety of a keelboat that cannot turn over.

Kids Can Sail II (Ages 8-16)
Prerequisite: Kids Can Sail I (CENS 607) or basic sailing skills
Continue to build on your sailing skills and gain experience on a larger keelboat with a wheel! Students will focus on the finer points of sailing including navigation and intermediate sailing maneuvers with a certified sailing instructor.

Kids Can Sail III (Ages 8-16)
Prerequisite: Kids Can Sail I (CEN 607) and Kids Can Sail II (CEN 614) or basic small boat sailing skills
Experience the thrill of sailing a 10’ dinghy single handedly! This five day course will provide a unique non-competitive experience where children can build confidence. They will learn how to sail a performance dinghy known for its stability and safety while supervised by a certified sailing Instructor.

Kids Can Sail IV (Ages 8-16)
Prerequisite: Kids Can Sail I (CEN 607), Kids Can Sail II (CEN 614) and Kids Can Sail III (CEN 617) or basic small boat sailing skills
Venture beyond the basics with dinghy racing! This five day course will provide an introduction to one design dinghy racing. Learn basic racing skills in a relaxed environment while supervised by a certified sailing Instructor. Topics include racing rules, starting line techniques, how to get around a race course and more.

Boy Scout Small Boat Sailing Merit Badge & Girl Scout Smooth Sailing Interest Project
Scouts can achieve this badge or project in two days! Each day your scout will review all on-the-water and safety elements for the badge or project. Every scout will get a chance to sail as a crewmember and as a skipper.
Cost: $720 per boat (4-6 Scouts)
Week: Any weekday during July or August (call to schedule)

General Information
Our NEW Sailing Center and waterfront location on the Toms River provides a fun environment to experience a variety of water sports. Children participating in any of our Kids Programs must know how to swim and be between the ages of 5-8 or 8-16 years old depending on the program. All children will be outfitted with a life vest and water shoes. Children should bring a bottle of water, hat, sunglasses, sun block, dry clothes, a towel and a lunch on any full day of class. Your child will be supervised by an instructor certified to teach recreational sailing or kayaking.
Class held rain or shine, wind or no wind! No make-up days available.
Attend one of our scheduled group classes or create your own private group of 4-6 kids and you choose the dates! Custom Sailing & Aqua Adventure Camps available upon request (up to 60 kids) for a minimum of 3 hours up to one week.

Kids should:
- Bring a Lunch on any full day of class
- Bring a Bottle of water
- Wear a Hat
- Wear Sun Glasses
- Bring Sun block/Lip Balm
- Wear Shoes that can get wet & are not scuffing (white or light tan soles) as the decks of the boats are white; otherwise we will provide water/boat shoes for those that would like them
- Wear Shorts, T-shirt, & a Bathing Suit
- Bring a light sweat shirt or long sleeve shirt
- Bring a Light rain or water resistant jacket
- Bring a Change of clothes in case they get wet (including undergarments as they will arrive in a bathing suit)
- Bring a Towel
We do have stinging jellyfish known as “sea nettles” in the Toms River and Barnegat Bay typically during the summer months of July and August. If your child is sensitive to jellyfish stings, we recommend they wear protective water clothing such as a long sleeve rash guard or lycra “swim skins” if they plan to get wet (swimming, kayaking or tubing). We have available sun block with jellyfish sting protective lotion by “Safe Sea” for sale that you can purchase and apply to your child prior to class. We provide vinegar for after sting care during class, other recommendations are meat tenderizer and baking soda. For more information, please visit the following websites:
